From the wide acreage lots off Sunrise Boulevard to the shaded streets ringing Plantation's golf courses, homes here range from private-well estates to original ranch construction. Our crews learn the neighborhood before they touch a wrench, so the repair matches the house.
Plantation grew in waves, and you can trace those waves through the plumbing. Well-fed acreage on one side of town, mid-century ranch construction in the middle, and shaded golf-course subdivisions farther west. Each one asks for a different diagnosis before we ever pick up a tool. The city itself only incorporated on 30 April 1953 with fewer than 500 residents, and it filled in from east to west from there.
Homes on the larger lots in western Plantation, many still running private wells, often complain about pressure that fades the farther you get from the pump. That symptom rarely points to a single fixture. It usually traces back through a long buried supply run, sometimes to a tired pressure tank or a check valve that stopped sealing years ago. Instead of digging blind across a full acre, we use leak detection tools to narrow the search to a section of pipe worth opening.
Well-fed properties also tend to share equipment between the house, irrigation, and sometimes a softener, all pulling from the same source. A homeowner will notice weak flow at the kitchen sink and never think to ask about the pump house out back. We walk the whole system, pump to hose bib, before we quote anything, because on acreage the actual problem is often nowhere near the fixture that's complaining.

Closer to the center of town, ranch homes built through the 1960s and 70s frequently sit over poured terrazzo, with galvanized supply pipe and cast iron drainage underneath it. In 33317 the peak decade is the 1970s with 3,861 homes, followed by the 1960s with 3,430 and the 1950s with 2,638. Galvanized narrows from rust over the decades until pressure drops to a trickle. Cast iron scales and cracks until backups become routine.
Half the residential stock, essentially 33324, 33325 and the Jacaranda communities, went up right inside the 1978 to 1995 window when grey polybutylene service pipe with acetal fittings was standard. In 33324 the peak decade is the 1980s with 7,835 homes, then the 1990s with 4,824 and the 1970s with 4,781. That pipe fails without warning, usually at a fitting or inside a wall, and the class-action claim period closed in 2009 while the houses still have it in the ground.
Plantation Acres was annexed in 1973 and built mostly after that date, and between Hiatus Road and Flamingo Road north of Broward Boulevard there are still lots of nearly an acre on septic tank instead of sewer. That combination, private well in front and septic behind, is not something you find in most of Broward, and it changes both the diagnosis and the permit path.
Out toward the golf-course neighborhoods, mature oak canopy that makes the streets beautiful also sends roots straight into sewer laterals laid decades ago. Once roots find a joint, backups become a recurring event rather than a one-time nuisance. We clear the line with hydro jetting, run a camera to check the pipe wall, and if the damage is structural we move to sewer line repair or a trenchless repair that skips tearing up mature landscaping.
Burst lines, sudden flooding, and no-water calls, answered around the clock whether your home is on well or city service.

See repiping →Plantation is the one city on this list without a foot of coastline. It was built on former Everglades pasture and farmland, drained after the Holloway canal opened in 1906, which is why the west side still has acre lots on septic that no neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood or Pompano can match. We treat original terrazzo floors as something worth saving, not an obstacle: where the run allows it we reroute new supply lines overhead through the attic and drop them inside the walls, leaving the slab untouched. When cast iron under the floor has actually failed, we open the smallest corridor the repair requires and finish the patch clean and square, so a flooring contractor can match it without a fight. The same crews cover these cities too.
